Welcome to the Equity Innovations Lab, where our guiding principle is Equity by Design. Our mission is to create and support inclusive, justice-centered communities across education and organizations that aim to integrate AI into their programs. We believe that both education and organizational practices should inspire critical thinking and empower individuals to challenge and transform the social structures that perpetuate oppression. Our approach, encapsulated in the JEDI AI Framework—Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity—is rooted in human-centered design thinking, with a steadfast focus on equity and the complexities of modern systems.
As advocates for equitable design principles, culturally responsive practices, and trauma-informed, healing-centered interactions, we work to dismantle barriers and cultivate environments where everyone, from learners to professionals, can thrive within community-centered and technologically advanced practices. We recognize that equity challenges are complex and multifaceted, and finding effective solutions requires ongoing, dynamic reform. This reform extends from classrooms to boardrooms, through the intentional reinvention of curricula, AI integration, and the collaborative efforts of diverse networks working toward common goals.
